Labor Day Weekend Triple Blog Hop

Welcome everyone to the Labor Day Weekend Triple Blog Hop!  I'm so glad you are hopping along with us today!  The Sparklers and I are hosting three separate blog hops featuring some super special guests!  Be sure to hop along each day for a chance to win one of three $10 SMS shop credits.

You should have arrived here from Khristina's blog, but if you get lost you can always go back to SpiegelMomScraps to find the entire list of blogs for today!

Today is Sequin Saturday where we will be showing off some of the amazing sequin mixes in the shop!  For todays' hop I made a Pocket Life spread!  Here it is:

I used some new to me collections for this spread; Amy Tangerine Better Together, Jen Hadfield Everyday, Dear Lizzy Happy Place and a bit of Imaginisce Summer Love.  As always, I started on my title card first as it will set the tone for the whole spread.

I sewed a 2x6 strip of yellow paper from Everyday onto a blue piece from Better Together.  I added the word Thicker from the new Amy Tangerine collection Oh Happy Life and added the week with the Dear Lizzy epoxy Thickers.  I embellished with a couple of die cut flowers, the new Cork Confetti Stars, resin stars and some of the new Let's Be Mermaids sequin mix.

I filled a Becky Higgins Fuse brand 4x6 photo pocket with some of the Let's Be Mermaids sequins mix and added a bit of the Fairy Dust mix and a couple seed beads from my stash.  I sewed it shut with my sewing machine, but you could also use your Fuse Tool to do this.

I love using 3x4 pictures on 4x6 cards for PL.  It gives me extra room to embellish!  Here I made a fun cluster and embellished with more Cork Confetti Stars and Let's Be Mermaids sequins.

I made my own 3x4 filler card by sewing a piece of the Summer Love cut apart sheet and sewing it onto a 3x4 piece of patterned paper from Everyday.  I embellished with an enamel heart, a gem and a sequin.

I embellished my last 4x6 card in a similar fashion to the others.  This adds balance and symmetry to my layout.  I try to make sure that my colors and embellishments are evenly spread out across the pages.  And that does it for my layout today!  I hope you enjoyed it!

Sparkler Squads Unite September 1st Blog Hop!

Hello everyone and welcome to another Sparklers Squads Unite blog hop!  There are
two squads on the team, a blog squad and a YouTube squad.  On
the first of every month we will join up for a fun and inspiring blog hop!
The prize every month for the hop is a $10 credit to the SMS shop.
Since there is a HUGE Labor Day hop on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, you will only have
one day to leave your comments on all of the blogs for a chance to win.
And don't forget that Khristina is creating a free cut file for every hop!

You should have arrived here from Lisa's blog!

My project for this hop is a set of three fun and easy bookmarks!  I made these for
my 8 year old daughter for her first day of school.  Here they are:

I started with a couple of old 6x8 Becky Higgins page protectors.  I cut them
down to 4x4 and filled each one with a bunch of sequin mixes from the SMS shop
and a few goodies from my stash.

The first one I made using a few acetate bits from the Amy Tangerine Better Together collection.
I added a bunch of the Hot Right Now Sequins and a couple of the mix tape
ephemera pieces and a couple of wood veneer asterisks.
I threw in some chunky iridescent glitter from my stash and sewed it shut using
my sewing machine, but you could also use your Fuse tool for this.  I toped it off with some miscellaneous ribbon and a beautiful leather hassle from Dear Lizzy Happy Place.

I made the second one using a few pieces of acetate and ephemera from the Imaginisce Hello Summer.  Then I added some of the Sunny Smiles Mix, a few wood veneer hearts,
and more of the iridescent chunky glitter and sewed it shut.  I also finished it
with some ribbon and a hassle from Maggie Holmes Shine.

For my last bookmark, I filled it with a few acetate pieces and ephemera from Dear Lizzy Happy
Place.  I added some of the Spring Bloom Mix and a few wood veneer glasses and
sewed it shut.  I added a few strands of ribbon and a tassel from Maggie Holmes Shine.

Thank you for hopping along with us today!  Next you are off to Hanna's blog!

Sparkler Squads Unite August 1st Blog Hop

Greetings and welcome to our Sparklers Squads Unite blog hop! This term The Sparklers are split into two teams; The Blog Squad and the YouTube Squad. Each month we will come together for a fun blog hop to bring you some great tips, techniques and inspiration! For this hop, you should have arrived here from Lisa. I'm sure you enjoyed her fun project! For the hop today I made a super fun Pocket Letter! Here it is:
I started my pocket letter with an old 6x6 pad of paper by Dear Lizzy
from the Fine and Dandy collection.  Then I grabbed a ton of goodies
from the SMS shop and got started!
I cut a bunch of the 6x6 patterned paper down to 2.5x3.5 to fit into the Pocket Page Protectors from the shop.  I filled each pocket with goodies from my stash or from the shop.  Here you can see I tucked in some Shimelle Wood Veneer and a baggie of Love Beats Sequin Mix behind circles that I punched out and adhered to the outside of the pockets!
I made a simple title card using half of a White Paper Lace Doily and a few old Thickers from my stash.  I added a couple of glitter arrow Thickers from the Cedar Lane Collection by Pink Paislee.  I embellished the outside of the pockets with enamel hearts, Kaisercraft gems and miscellaneous bits from my stash.  Here you can see a few fun Studio Calico Wood Veneers peeking out!
I tucked a few Mini Wood Clothespins and Chunky Cork Stars in these two.  Then I added a Dear Lizzy Happy Place Die Cut Phrase.  I added similar embellishments to the other pockets.

My last pocket has some acrylic pieces from Pink Paislee C'est La Vie in it and I embellished it with a glitter heart, a gem and a button from Basic Grey Saturday Morning.  I can't wait to mail this lovely off to a member on SMS Facebook page "15 Minutes To Scrap!"
I hope you enjoyed my quick and fun pocket letter project!  Look for more happy mail and pocket life ideas from me on the SMS blog and don't forget to tune into the SMS channel on Youtube to find my "Shake It Sunday" videos on the last Sunday of the month!

Scrap It Off Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to SpiegelMom Scraps SCRAP IT OFF Anniversary & Design Team reveal blog hop! We hope you’re as excited as we are about this event! Jody is super excited to reveal the new Design Team, three new sequin mixes, prizes and a FREE cut file designed by one of our new DT Sparklers!

Jody revealed the new sequins on the SpiegelMom Scraps blog which you can check out HERE. The entire line up for the hop is listed below!

You should have arrived here from Crafty Meggy! I'm sure you enjoyed here gorgeous project! For today's project I did a Pocket Life layout. Here it is:

My main passion in scrapbooking is Pocket Life! So, I thought that my first post for the new team ought to be a Pocket Life spread! I started out with papers and embellishments from Basic Grey Saturday Morning, Jilibean Soup Healthy Hello and Pinkfresh Studio Felicity.
I always make my title card first, as it sets the tone for the rest of the spread. I try to incorporate recurring themes and design elements across the spread to make it look cohesive! I started with a 4x6 cut apart from Basic Grey and added a 2x3 strip of blue patterned paper and backed it with a 2.5x3.5 piece of Large Glassine bag. I love using pieces of glassine bag instead of expensive vellum. I embellished with Thickers, flowers from Jilibean Soup and some of the beautiful Magical Ocean Sequin Mix and Moonshine Delight Sequins.
Here I added a couple of Cloudy Days Felties Clouds to a 4x6 picture. I stapled them on with my Tiny Attacher and added a puffy bird sticker from Pinkfresh Studios and added more of the Magical Oceans Mix and Moonshine Delight Sequins.
I used my Tombow MultiGlue to stick this Studio Calico Wood Veneer from the shop to a 4x6 picture. I added a die cut flower and a puffy sticker flower and a sequin from Magical Ocean Mix. I love using sequins instead of expensive enamel dots!
I placed a 3x4 picture on a 4x6 piece of patterned paper from Faith Illustrated She Blooms collection and splattered a bit of Heidi Shine in Butter on it. I sewed a boarder around it with my sewing machine and embellished with some Basic Grey flowers, a Studio Calico Wood Veneer and a bird die cut from Pinkfresh Studio. Once again, I added Magical Ocean and Moonshine Delight Sequins instead of enamel dots!
I made my own filler card with a 3x4 piece of patterned paper, a cut apart and a couple of strips of glitter card stock. I splattered on some Heidi Shine, stamped the dates and added sequins!
Here, I made a flip sequin pocket with a 3x4 Becky Higgins Fuse brand flip pocket. I filled it with the delicious Magical Ocean Sequin Mix and Moonshine Delight Sequins and sewed it shut with my sewing machine. I used Sticky Thumb Red Tape to adhere it to the from of my pocket page. I added a few seed beads from my stash to the pocket too!
I made another 3x4 filler card using a 3x4 piece of patterned paper and a small piece of vellum. I filled the little pocket that I made up with extra die cuts and a Medium White Shipping Tag and embellished with a Thicker leaf and a die cut flower. I also added a few of the Magical Ocean and Moonshine Delight Sequins.
Here is another 3x4 picture on a 4x6 piece of patterned paper. I added some Basic Grey die cut flowers and a few of the sequins and called it done! I hope you enjoyed my version of Pocket Life! Keep an eye n the blog for more from me, and of course my "Shake It" videos on Youtube!

Scrapbook Skippings Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to this month's blog hop, aka SpiegelMom's Skippings!   Today is extra special because SpiegelMom Scraps is not only revealing the fabulous new sequin mixes for this quarter, but she's also welcoming this month's Guest Designer, Khristina Sorge.  We are super excited to have her designing with us this month so watch for her first blog hop next week!

Jody revealed the new sequins on the SpiegelMom Scraps blog which you can check out HERE
Your entire line up for today's hop is:

Sarah (That's me, you're here!)
Lea

For today's blog hop you should have arrived here from Jody!    I'm sure you loved her project as much as I did!  For today's project I have a super fun 8.5x11 layout using the new collection from Pink Paislee called Outfitters.  There is a new mix in the shop today called A Day In The Woods to match the line!  Here it is:

I used my Silhouette to cut out the word "Carolina" from an 8.5x11 piece of white card stock.  I then used a few different pieces of patterned paper from the collection to fill in the letters.  I added "North" using the beautiful copper chipboard Thickers from the collection.

I added a couple of Chunky Cork Stars and couple of the Cloudy Days Felties to embellish the title.  I also used the new sequin mix called A Day In The Woods to embellish like enamel dots.

I matted my 3x4 photo of the Blue Ridge Mountains on a piece of Large Glassine bag and backed it with a Medium White Shipping Tag.  I also tucked in a few pieces of ephemera and a metal paper clip from the Crate Paper Poolside collection.

I stamped the date on with my Becky Higgins roller date stamp.  Then I added a few enamel dots, Kaisercraft rhinestones, and a splash of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Black and called it done!

I hop e you enjoyed my project for today's hop!  Don't forget to follow along on the hop and comment on all of them for a chance to win one of 2 prizes!  One is a $10 credit to the SMS shop or a prize pack containing all of the new July release sequin mixes PLUS one more of your choice!  Now you're headed over to Lea's blog!
